Healthy oven baked beef burgers
Im super excited to share my healthy oven baked beef burgers with you!
Who doesn’t love a good burger!! Minus the mess of cleaning up your cooktop and splash-back from all the splutter. Im going to show you how to create deliciously juicy beef burgers that the whole family will love! You can thank me later!!
Why I am obsessed with these healthy oven baked beef burgers
- So apart from being mess free which is always a winner for me. these beef burgers are full of flavour.
- Oven baking the burgers are a much healthier option as they are not fried in oil
- It also saves you time as the oven does the work for you! No flipping burgers and standing by the pan waiting for them to cook. While they are in the oven you can prepare your yummy trimmings!
- Ive added zucchini and carrot but you can add in whichever vegetables you like to make these even healthier
- They are so moist and super juicy
- The kids love them!! And that in itself is enough for me!
The secret for moist and juicy beef burgers
If you want moist beef burger patties my secret is stale bread! Yep I know what your thinking…How can stale bread make the burgers moist? You soak the stale bread in milk for 5 minutes. Once the milk has been soaked up by the bread, squeeze out the excess milk and crumble the bread into your beef mixture. This will truly transform your burgers into next level stuff! You have to try this!
All the trimmings!
These are my must have’s for the ultimate beef burgers!!
- For a beautiful sweetness, slow cooked onions are a match made in heaven for beef burgers. Peel and slice one brown and one red onion. Heat a teaspoon of olive oil in a small fry pan and gently cook the sliced onions on low until golden and sticky.
- Adding a fried egg to your burger is really delicious! Especially when placed on top so when the yolk breaks the bun can soak up all the goodness. YUM!!!
- Beetroot; you will either love or hate it but nothing says “Aussie Burger” like beetroot
- Cheese! How annoying is it when you go out for a burger and you have to purchase cheese as an extra. Like what the?? I place the cheese on top of the hot beef Pattie so it slightly melts the cheese. So good!
- Pickles; The love hate relationship with pickles is real!! but if you like pickles they add a tanginess and saltiness. Did you know the purpose of pickles in the burger is to allow you to taste the other flavours more clearly.
- Tomato and lettuce; This adds the freshness to the burger and the lettuce (if your using iceberg lettuce) also provides a crunch.
- Finally your sauces!! tomatoes sauce, mayonnaise and mustard.
So now you no longer have to mess up that stove top! Or nag hubby to get his butt outside and light the BBQ. You can enjoy these healthy beef burgers without all the extra fuss and I promise they are just as good.
You can post your pictures of the Happy smiling faces and tomato sauce grins as your family dig into these!!! using the hashtag #mrsfoodiemumma
