Mini Salmon Tarts
My mini salmon tarts are perfect for entertaining!
Mini salmon tarts; Whats not to like! Flaky puff pastry base filled with smoked salmon, fresh herbs and a delicious hit of cream cheese. These little guys are the bomb!
I made these the other day for our office Christmas Party and lucky I had made 2 batches because Joe and the kids were devouring them quicker than I could get them off the cooling rack and into my Tupperware!
Whether it be for Birthday parties, gatherings, baby showers or morning tea in the office, these mini salmon quiches are sure to impress your crowd!
I have made the tarts so many times at various get togethers and they are always the first to go. The tarts are best served fresh from the oven but you can also make them ahead and then just re -warm before serving.
Finger food can tend to be tricky and fiddly so I love how simple these are to make yet they look like you have gone to that extra effort.
These can also be made into 4 bigger tarts using the small individual tart tins. they make for a delicious light lunch or dinner served with a grain salad or steamed vegetables. Try it with my tabouli salad
What you will need
- Puff pastry: make sure you use a buttery pastry as this makes the tarts so much more tastier! I use Pampas butter Puff pastry.
- Smoked salmon; My go to for smoked salmon is Tassal as its always so fresh and delicious.
- Cream cheese: Add a generous dollop for the lovely creaminess as you bite into the tarts. Philadelphia cream cheese all the way!
- Fresh dill springs; not only make the tarts look pretty but it gives such a wonderful flavour. I Think salmon and dill just go hand in hand.
- Thickened Cream and egg
- Fresh chives; I sprinkle the chives over the tarts just before placing them in the oven
6 ingredients is all you need to make the tarts so be sure to try these at your next event or even just because! I can promise you when you take that first bite, BOOM! you are going to be hooked! I predict the words to follow will be something like this… “WOW these are amazing!” And you won’t be able to stop at just one. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!
