Hi There!! Im Marie,
Im so excited that you’re here!
I’m the creator, the voice and the face behind Mrsfoodiemumma and I want to tell you a little bit bout me. This is my little space where I get to share my food with you. All the recipes on my blog are recipes that I cook for my own family every day.
This whole idea of sharing my recipes started after I kept hearing from family and friends how they were stuck on dinner ideas. It’s a daily struggle for many Mums and Dads to come up with healthy meal ideas that the kids will actually enjoy. This may be the exact reason you are here on my site right now! That’s great! Because here you will find delicious, healthy (mostly healthy) and easy to follow recipes to inspire you and nourish your family.
A little bit about the girl behind Mrsfoodiemumma
I live in Melbourne with my husband Joe, we have been together since we were 15. We have three beautiful children Olive, Jamie and William. Recently we have welcomed Ruby into our family, our gorgeous toy cavoodle and she loves food as much as we do!
I work part- time for an insurance company and write a column for The Westsider newspaper called What’s for dinner. I love coffee, date nights (where I drag Joe across Melbourne just to try a new restaurant) and creating memories with my family.
My background is Italian and I love the Mediterranean diet! in addition I can’t go past a good Asian dish so you will see this a lot in my recipes.
Oh and if you haven’t already noticed Im big on exclamation marks too!!
How Mrsfoodiemumma came to be
When thinking about a name and a brand I wanted to combine the three things that sum me up; A wife, a passionate foodie but above all else a mother. This is how Mrsfoodiemumma came to life.
I started by posting daily pictures on facebook and Instagram on what I was cooking for my family. After sharing my recipes and getting great feedback I realised I needed to take this to the next level. I want to show you that cooking doesn’t have to be a chore. In other words, every day is another opportunity to try something new.
My love for food and cooking started at a very young age. Some of my fondest memories are being in the kitchen watching my grandparents and helping them cook. In year 7 when I started food technology I realised that cooking was something I was truly passionate about. Similarly I remember opening up my first Jamie Oliver cookbook and just being so inspired.
I want to share a secret…
I’m putting it out there, I don’t have any professional culinary qualifications and I am definitely not a chef. Despite this, my Nonna taught me that in order to bring humble meals out of your kitchen and onto your table you only need two things; Passion and love! Without this, food is just a means to fuel your body. However, with passion and love, food becomes a way of life! The rest you will learn as you go.
So this is why Im very excited to share my little corner of the internet with you! Together lets create delicious food, lets nourish our families and lets create long lasting memories.
Lets keep in touch
